Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. seeks a mid-level Software Developer with 5+ years of experience to join our on-site team in Virginia. The role focuses on designing and implementing modular software for tactical systems, with an ACTIVE Secret clearance required.

Candidates should be proficient in Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, or TypeScript and familiar with CI/CD and containerization. The position requires 3-4 on-site days per week at NSWCDD or contractor facility, and US citizenship is required for clearance

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Knowledge of modular software architectures.
• Knowledge of API design and data access.
• Knowledge of database schema design and SQL.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of Agile fundamentals.
• Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain modular software components using Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Develop standard APIs and scalable data interfaces for data access and integration.
• Design database schemas and write efficient SQL queries.
• Utilize CI/CD automation and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Integrate open communication protocols and mapping libraries (MQTT, gRPC, WebSockets; OpenLayers, Cesium).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, perform code reviews, and deliver software packages.
• Maintain ability to operate in a cleared security environment and ensure security compliance.
