Job summary

Vernovis, Ltd. is seeking a Senior Software Developer II to design, build, and modernize cloud-first enterprise applications in Cincinnati, OH.

You will develop cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs using C# and .NET, containerize with Docker and Kubernetes, and leverage Azure for deployment and management. You will work on event-driven architectures with Kafka, implement API security, and collaborate across teams to ensure secure, observable, and production-ready software.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on development with C#/.NET Core for enterprise apps, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure including AKS, App Services, and cloud deployments.
• Experience designing and supporting containerized microservices using Docker and Kubernetes in production.
• Experience building event-driven architectures using Kafka, preferably Confluent Kafka, for enterprise integration.
• Experience with API design and security including OpenAPI, OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API management.
• Familiarity with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and observability tools (Elastic, Dynatrace, Datadog).
• Strong understanding of scalable, resilient distributed systems and debugging complex issues.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; IaC and Azure Functions/serverless architecture a plus.

Vernovis is looking for a Senior Software Developer II who will be a hands‑on developer focused on building and modernizing enterprise applications within a cloud‑first environment. This person will design and develop cloud-native microservices and APIs using C#/.NET, while leveraging Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes/AKS, Docker, and Confluent Kafka to build scalable, event‑driven solutions. They will help transition legacy applications to modern distributed architectures, integrate APIs and services across the enterprise, and ensure applications are secure, resilient, observable, and production‑ready. The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering fundamentals along with proven, hands‑on experience building and supporting Azure‑based microservices using Kubernetes and Kafka.

What You'll Have:

• Strong hands-on development experience with C# and .NET Core, including building enterprise applications, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including deploying and supporting cloud-native applications using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure App Services.
• Experience designing and supporting containerized microservices using Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience building event-driven architectures using Kafka, preferably Confluent Kafka, for enterprise application integration.
• Experience with API design and security, including OpenAPI, OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API management technologies.
• Familiarity with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and observability tools such as Elastic, Dynatrace, or Datadog.
• Strong understanding of scalable, resilient distributed systems with the ability to troubleshoot complex application and integration issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred; experience with Infrastructure as Code and Azure Functions/serverless architecture is a plus.
