Job summary

Wisecode is hiring a remote Software Developer & Data Engineer to help build a data lakehouse and own end-to-end data pipelines. You will work with our Data team to shape architecture and implementation in an early-stage environment.

We expect 3+ years in a similar role, native Python and SQL, and comfort with ambiguity and fast pace. This is a full-time, fully remote USA position with competitive compensation and strong health benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience designing and shipping a lakehouse or data warehouse from scratch.
• Experience treating data identity and entity resolution as architectural questions.
• Experience running batch pipelines that invoke paid cloud APIs at scale with cost controls.
• Experience pairing daily with other engineers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lakehouse Architecture & Implementation: Own end-to-end implementation and collaborate on data/platform architecture alongside Nicholas.
• Source Ingestion: Build and establish patterns for a variety of sources including APIs, text from public sources, and external databases.
• Identity & Entity Resolution: Merge records across retailers and dates into one trusted published record with source provenance.
• Pipeline Consolidation & Enrichment: Consolidate existing food enrichment pipelines into a single pipeline with Kevin's team.
• Downstream Connectors: Build robust connectors to feed data to WISE Intel and the consumer app.
• Operational Discipline & Configuration: Maintain strict fail-fast config discipline in configs.
• Data Quality & Reporting: Establish ingest capabilities and quality reporting for Data Assembly readiness.
• Technical Documentation: Write plain, short, dated decision records prior to code implementation.
