Job summary

Workiva Inc. is seeking a software engineer to participate in product discovery, break down work into actionable tasks, and independently develop features and services. You’ll lead incident resolution, mentor teammates, and improve quality through code reviews and automated testing.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, establish metrics, and drive risk mitigation, while promoting an inclusive, collaborative engineering culture across our cloud-based platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; advanced degree may substitute
• 6 years of related experience
• Experience building and implementing tests for high‑quality software
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, OOP, FP, cloud‑based distributed systems

Responsibilities

• Participate in product discovery to understand stakeholders and use cases
• Break down projects into manageable tasks for development
• Independently develop and enhance features and services
• Lead the team in incidents, root-cause analysis, and improvements
• Mentor teammates and support their growth
• Improve quality via code reviews and automated testing
• Provide integration assistance, education, and risk mitigation
• Establish metrics to identify issues and drive resolution
• Foster inclusive, collaborative technical discussions
