Blue Origin LLC in Seattle is seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Manager to lead the Material Movement and Receiving Technology team. You will manage a skilled software team and drive an ambitious supply-chain technology roadmap.

You will mentor engineers, present strategic initiatives to executives, and collaborate on architectures across manufacturing, scheduling, and execution software while driving operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Proven track record of leading software projects from inception to delivery.
• Experience applying AI to solve business problems and facilitate software development.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
• Experience in distributed backend systems and cloud-based environments, such as AWS.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A passion for space exploration and commitment to Blue Origin’s mission.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of software engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation.
• Regularly presenting strategic initiatives to VPs and executives.
• Collaborating with Senior and Principal engineers to identify optimal architectures.
• Driving operational excellence and delivering high-quality technical solutions.
• Overseeing design, implementation and launch of manufacturing, scheduling, planning and execution software.
• Owning critical workstreams on complex, years-long projects.
• Optimizing software development processes to enhance productivity and quality.
