Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks a Software Asset Optimization Owner to lead SAM activities across on-prem, SaaS, and cloud environments. You will manage licensing, contracts, and inventory, delivering compliance reports and strategic optimization ahead of renewals.

The role requires strong analytical skills, collaboration with product owners, and experience with discovery tools to ensure accurate usage tracking and cost control. This position is based in Columbus, OH.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing software assets across on-prem, SaaS, and/or public cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of software license metrics and contracts and how they apply within SAM.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and operationalizing software license agreements and contract terms.
• Experience with SAM tools such as USU/Aspera, Flexera, SNOW, or SamPro.
• Familiarity with software discovery tools (ADDM, SCCM, Altiris) and inventories/CMDB.

Responsibilities

• Manage software licensing, contracts, and inventory across major vendors and platforms.
• Create and deliver software compliance reporting with trends and insights for cost control and pre-audit readiness.
• Maintain accurate software and contract records across repositories and license management systems.
• Perform internal compliance audits to reconcile entitlements against deployments across environments.
• Partner with product owners to determine strategy and optimize usage ahead of renewals and negotiations.
• Project manage contract renewal activity across teams to enable proactive actions.
• Ensure high data quality in products and contracts with a data owner mindset.
• Possess a financial acumen around forecasting and budgeting.
