Job Description: Senior Software Architect

Duration: 6 months

Location: Remote (Occasional travel might be required)

Responsibilities

Assess Current Application and Client Requirements:

Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the existing custom application, understanding its nuances, functionalities, and underlying architecture.

Engage with the client to understand their current and future business needs and pain points.

Collaborate with the development team and stakeholders to gather insights and identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Architectural Guidance And Solution Recommendations

Provide expert guidance to the client on the best approach to upgrade and modernize the application while ensuring its scalability, performance, and maintainability.

Evaluate the feasibility of upgrading the current application versus migrating to a new technology stack to meet the client's long-term objectives.

Propose architectural changes, design patterns, and technology choices that align with the client's business goals and future growth.

Performance Analysis And Code Review

Conduct in-depth performance analysis to identify and address memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, and areas for optimization in the current application.

Lead and oversee a performance code review to assess the quality and efficiency of the application's codebase.

Implement strategies and solutions to enhance application responsiveness and overall performance.

Technology Research And Adoption

Stay abreast of the latest software platforms, frameworks, and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions that will future proof the application for the next 10-15 years.

Evaluate new technologies and assess their compatibility with the existing system and business requirements.

Collaborative Client Engagement

Act as a trusted advisor to the client, building strong relationships and effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Present architectural proposals, progress reports, and recommendations to the client and internal teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Proven track record as a Senior Software Architect with extensive experience in architecting and upgrading enterprise-level applications.

Deep knowledge of various software platforms, technologies, and programming languages, and the ability to recommend the most suitable solutions for specific business needs.

Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and optimizing applications, including addressing memory leaks and performance issues.

Strong expertise in conducting code reviews and implementing coding best practices.

Experience working with clients to understand their requirements and advising on technology transformations.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Effective communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
