The following position is to join our RTX PST (Process and Systems Transformation):

RTX is seeking a Sr. Manager, Cloud Solutions Architect (Sr. Manager, Business Systems and Transformation) role focusing on public infrastructure solutions and implementations.

The Cloud Solutions Architect plays a key role to build high-quality and innovative cloud-based hosting solutions that complies with best practice DevSecOps. Collaborate with business and technology colleagues to identify and demonstrate the value and benefits of cloud solutions. Design or update architectural designs and/or patterns for Azure and AWS that are in compliance with enterprise security standards as well as government compliance.

In this role you will be responsible support the Enterprise SAP program in it’s efforts of consolidation and integration with RISE, as well as increasing automation capabilities and mechanisms with the Public Cloud and SAAS Services, but also must account for the unique needs of each business unit.

What You Will Do:

  • Work as a member of cross-functional teams to design scalable, highly available, secure infrastructure solutions that leverage cloud services
  • Develop and document detailed SAP technical designs for integration and implementation of cloud systems and services, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements
  • Partner with contracted platform partners and Basis team to design, develop and document solutions that comply with strategic enterprise architecture and guidelines
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and deliver on strategic initiatives
  • Participate in and provide value to design and code reviews
  • Plan for system and application migration(s) to the cloud, adhering to the client’s technical and business requirements
  • Communicate effectively through strong written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Integrate with non-cloud technologies and third-party vendor products/services (SAAS), including RISE
  • Assess emerging technologies and stay abreast of industry trends related to Cloud and SAP
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as work collaboratively with teams, some of which may be geographically distributed
  • Responsible for the completion of specific goals, objectives, and tasks related to this position as assigned by RTX management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop SAP solution roadmaps and strategic plans
  • Ensure adherence to SAP best practices and industry standards
  • Accomplishments (in the first year):
    • Complete stand ups of QA environments introducing and solidifying the high availability approach and disaster recovery strategy
    • Begin efforts to stand up initial production systems
    • Implement basic monitoring that will allow for evolution into the go-forward monitoring solution

Travel up to 20% domestically

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience with SAP migrations and/or stands-ups and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Technology (STEM) or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 7+ years’ related work experience
  • Experience with SAP modules (e.g., ECC, S/4HANA, BTP, FI, QM, etc.), SAP technologies, and cloud offerings such as RISE
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Hands-on experience with any of the following DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, Git, Jenkins) with an “Automation First” attitude
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, leveraging IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS offerings in both Commercial & GovCloud implementations
  • Experience with highly-available and fault-tolerant enterprise SAP deployments
  • Experience preferred with production enterprise workloads using such as:
  • Various database technologies (SQLServer, MYSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and data interchange formats (XML, JSON).
  • Identity and access management solutions, single sign-on federation, LDAP, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and PING
  • Windows Server (n-1), Redhat (n-1), and SUSE including authentication and access control, image management, patching, hardening & group policy, clustering, IIS/Apache, and other core services
  • Cloud based storage solutions such as ANF and native storage services
  • Backup and Recovery, including traditional streaming, virtualization, cloud based solutions and Hana System Replication
  • Security and Compliance standards (such as CIS Benchmarks, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, FedRAMP, ISO/IEC 27001, SOX, PCI DSS)

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
