Job summary

Anduril Industries, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Architect for Intelligence Systems in Reston, VA.

You will define the architectural direction for large-scale, real-time software, from edge deployments to distributed backend infrastructure, balancing performance, modularity, and maintainability. You will mentor senior engineers, set coding standards, review processes, and CI/CD practices while collaborating with customers to ensure mission-critical outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with a degree in CS or related field.
• Proven experience architecting large-scale, real-time or high-performance codebases.
• Experience with modern IPC frameworks and REST API design.
• Active U.S. Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural vision for large-scale, real-time software ingesting data from diverse sensors.
• Lead design of high-performance, real-time embedded Rust systems at scale.
• Make trade-offs across performance, modularity, and maintainability.
• Mentor senior engineers, set coding standards, and CI/CD practices.
• Engage with customers to ensure mission-critical outcomes.
• Troubleshoot complex issues spanning software, math, sensor behavior, and networking.
• Contribute to lifecycle activities including prototyping, field testing, and deployment.
• Help shape hiring and technical growth as the organization scales.
