Anduril Industries in Reston, VA, is seeking a Software Architect to define the architectural direction for large-scale, real-time software deployed from edge devices to distributed backends. You will mentor engineers, drive performance trade-offs, and ensure maintainability of mission-critical systems.

The role requires deep expertise in C++, Rust, async/multithreaded programming (Tokio), and a strong math/software intersection (state estimation, tracking, optimization).

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with a relevant degree.
• Experience architecting large-scale real-time production codebases.
• Experience with IPC frameworks and REST APIs.
• CI/CD, unit testing, git, and microservices experience.
• Active US Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural direction for large-scale, real-time software.
• Lead design of high-performance systems from edge to backend.
• Mentor senior engineers and set coding standards and CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate with customers to ensure mission-critical outcomes.
• Troubleshoot complex real-world system issues across domains.
