Job summary

Anduril Intelligence Systems in Reston, VA seeks a Software Architect to define the direction of large-scale, real-time software. You will lead cross-disciplinary teams, design high-performance systems, and mentor engineers, spanning embedded and backend layers, with a focus on reliability and security.

You will work with C++ and Rust, tackle complex state estimation and optimization, and communicate with customers to ensure mission success. A Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a relevant degree.
• Experience architecting large-scale, production-grade real-time systems.
• Experience with IPC frameworks and REST APIs.
• Active U.S. Secret clearance.
• Ability to mentor and lead senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural vision for large-scale, real-time software systems.
• Lead design and implementation of high-performance systems in Rust and C++.
• Balance performance, modularity, testability, and maintainability at scale.
• Mentor senior engineers and set coding standards and CI/CD practices.
• Engage with customers to ensure mission-critical outcomes.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across software, math, sensor behavior, and networking.
• Contribute to all phases of the software lifecycle including prototyping and field testing.
