Job summary

Lockheed Martin’s RMS business in Mount Laurel, NJ is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to defense programs, focusing on Java and/or C++ software development, simulations, and system engineering activities. You will work on Mission Planner DevSecOps initiatives and gain exposure to AI prompting in practice.

The role emphasizes ownership of challenging tasks, collaboration across teams, and opportunities to advance toward T‑Shaped engineering with system engineering experience.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related technical field.
• Minimum five years of software engineering experience.
• Extensive professional level experience in programming and/or simulation tools.
• Experience with design and development of software using C++ and/or Java.
• Experience with Agile Software Development.
• Ability to obtain & maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Requirements gathering and applications development.
• GUI development and software testing/debugging.
• Scientific applications development and modeling & simulations development.
• Develop software using Java and/or C++.
• Gain experience in System Engineering to become a T‑Shaped Engineer in Mission Planner DevSecOps organization.
