Job summary

Lockheed Martin in the Dallas area seeks an Embedded Software Engineer Sr. to develop embedded software for C/C++ applications, implementing features on Yocto/Petalinux and VXWorks across platforms.

You will plan, integrate and test software for mission-critical systems in aerospace and defense domains. The role requires an active DoD Secret clearance, strong Linux experience, and hands-on work with embedded protocols.

Qualifications

• Must have an active DoD secret clearance.
• Strong growth mindset with ability to learn quickly.
• Experience with modern C++11 Embedded OS such as Yocto, Petalinux, VxWorks or similar.
• Experience with embedded protocols (RS-232, I2C, Canbus, RS-485, CanOpen).
• Experience working with Linux distributions, preferably RHEL 8 or higher.
• Willingness to travel domestically for government exercises.

Responsibilities

• Develop Embedded Software.
• Integrate features/algorithms into C/C++ applications.
• Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities.
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug software for business/mission problems.
• Apply knowledge of computer hardware/software to develop software.
• Correct program errors and prepare operating instructions and documentation.
