Job summary
Lockheed Martin Corporation in Owego, NY is seeking a Level 2 Software Engineer to build flight‑critical software for embedded avionics and mission computers. You will participate in the full software lifecycle, moving code from development to integration, test and certification, while collaborating with experienced engineers.
You should have hands‑on experience with C/C++ for embedded systems, RTOS or embedded Linux, and be eligible for a DoD Secret clearance.
Qualifications
- 2+ years related experience with an Associate's Degree in STEM or 1+ years with a Bachelor's in STEM.
- Experience developing C/C++ code for embedded systems.
- Experience debugging software that controls hardware devices.
- Experience with RTOS/embedded Linux environments (Wind River VxWorks, LynxOS, Green Hills Integrity, etc.).
- U.S. Citizenship; ability to obtain DoD security clearance at the Secret level.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, test, debug, and maintain flight software for navigation systems.
- Analyze requirements and implement software for RTOS environments (LynxOS, VxWorks, Integrity).
- Perform software/hardware integration and system-level debugging with target hardware.
- Collaborate in peer reviews and technical design discussions.
- Support DevSecOps practices and automated testing.
