Job summary

Xceleration is seeking a Senior Software Architect to own how our RewardStation platform is designed, modernized, and built. This is a senior technical leadership role, not a senior coding role, with collaboration across architect peers, contract engineers, and AI coding agents.

Location is hybrid in Charlotte, NC; 3 days in office, 2 days remote from your home. You will guide end-to-end architecture, trade-offs, and ensure scalable, secure solutions while staying in the code.

Qualifications

• Extensive full-stack experience across backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure.
• Polyglot instincts: pick up new languages/frameworks as needed.
• Cloud, CI/CD, and production-operations literacy.
• Track record of system design work you can walk us through.
• Legacy assessment and modernization experience (strangler pattern, data migration).
• Security, compliance, and scalability treated as design inputs.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end. Design flows and system boundaries across the full stack - data model, services, APIs, front end, integrations - and own the decisions that are expensive to reverse.
• Read existing systems and plan their future. Take apart a working system, find where the real complexity and risk live, and produce a migration roadmap to a new platform or architecture that is sequenced and incremental.
• Balance the real constraints. Every architecture is a trade among speed to market, maintainability, performance, security, scalability, and cost.
• Build, not just diagram. Stay in the code. Prototype the risky part first and set the patterns for the team.
• Lead contract resources. Scope work, set technical direction and standards, review output, and keep distributed engineers productive.
• Translate. Explain options, risks, and costs to non-technical stakeholders in plain language for informed business decisions.
• Work AI-natively. Use coding agents as a primary tool for delivery and set standards for how the team does the same.
