Xceleration in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Software Architect for a hybrid role. You will own how our systems are designed, modernized, and built, collaborating with peers and contract engineers while still coding.

This senior technical leadership role focuses on architecture, migration roadmaps, and balancing speed, maintainability, security, and cost. You’ll translate options to non-technical stakeholders and lead AI-native development with coding agents.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and evolving large-scale systems.
• Proven ability to plan migrations with incremental, sequenced steps.
• Ability to balance performance, cost, and security in architecture.
• Experience leading contract or offshore engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end, defining data models, services, APIs, and boundaries.
• Read and plan future of existing systems with a clear migration roadmap.
• Evaluate tradeoffs among speed, maintainability, security, and scalability.
• Stay hands-on in code and set patterns for the team to follow.
• Lead contract resources, set standards, and keep teams aligned.
• Explain options and risks to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
• Work with AI coding agents as a core delivery tool.
