Job summary

Upgrade Resources is seeking a Software Architect/Manager to lead a four‑person US software team and global contractors. You will define architecture for modernizing the core platforms and rebuild key desktop apps with a focus on UX, performance, and long‑term lifecycle, while integrating with hardware and instrumentation.

The role combines hands‑on coding with leadership, and requires collaboration across hardware, product, and project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. in CS/Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong full stack JS/TS with desktop app focus (Electron or similar).
• Experience building hardware‑interfacing software and APIs.
• Familiarity with native interop (DLLs) and device communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the US software team and contractors.
• Define architecture for modernizing core platforms.
• Rebuild key apps for better UX, performance, and lifecycle.
• Develop software controlling photonics, instrumentation, data flow.
• Collaborate with hardware, product, and project stakeholders.
