Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market seeks a seasoned technical leader to drive cross-team initiatives across our product platforms. You will own long-term technical roadmaps, set standards, and guide architecture decisions while mentoring engineers.

Based in Phoenix with a hybrid schedule (in-office Tue–Thu), you will collaborate with store-support and engineering leaders to deliver scalable, cloud-native systems, event-driven designs, and robust security practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with cross-team leadership.
• Advanced knowledge of distributed systems, modern programming languages, microservices, and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience with event-driven/streaming systems such as Kafka or Pulsar.
• Experience with Kubernetes and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience developing architecture documents and leading technical reviews.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, RBAC and audit logging.

Responsibilities

• Develop and set technical standards, reusable patterns, and reference architectures.
• Lead major technical initiatives across teams with detailed analysis and coordination.
• Present technical recommendations to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
• Author reference architectures, proposals, and reusable software capabilities.
• Lead cross-team initiatives on event-driven design, streaming, data contracts, identity, access, and auditability.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to engineers and review work.
• Own technical objectives with a timeframe of at least one year and contribute to planning.
