Job summary

City of Hartford is seeking a professional social worker supervisor to deliver comprehensive services to People Who Use Drugs (PWUD) and families. The role includes interview, assessment, referrals, record-keeping, and leading subordinates in casework activities within the Department of Health and Human Services.

This grant-funded, 40-hour-per-week position emphasizes harm reduction, health equity, and collaboration with community partners; bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social services and a minimum of five years in delivering social services to individuals and families.
• At least two years of supervisory experience.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered when possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional social casework and counseling to PWUD and families.
• Interview clients, assess needs, make referrals, and maintain detailed records.
• Direct and supervise subordinate staff and coordinate with partners and trainings.
• Lead regional meetings and coordinate with community organizations and public health agencies.
