Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a SOC Engineer to join the Cyber team in the Security Operations Center. You will respond to security events, monitor posture, and advise actions to contain incidents. Strong problem-solving and analytics skills are essential.

The role involves threat analysis, updating runbooks, and contributing to detection capabilities, with on-call rotation and a focus on staying current with the threat landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science preferred.
• Three or more years of experience in infosec/cybersecurity/networking required.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms preferred.
• Experience with EDR or SIEM platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security event platforms and follow incident playbooks for first response and triage.
• Analyze network activity and perform intrusion detection analysis using IDS/IPS and related tools.
• Provide feedback to improve monitoring rules and create/update playbooks.
• Prepare regular reports for Security Management Team.
• Engage in on-call rotation and incident escalation as needed.
