Job summary

BDO USA seeks a SOC Engineer to join the Cyber team as an escalation responder for security events within the Security Operations Center. The ideal candidate will combine problem-solving skills with strong analytics to assist in security posture monitoring and threat response.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting security events, analyzing incidents to determine scope and business impact, and advising on containment and remediation steps.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science preferred
• Three or more years of experience in infosec, cybersecurity, or networking required
• Two or more years with cloud technologies such as Azure/AWS preferred
• Two or more years with EDR or SIEM platforms preferred
• Experience with help desk ticketing systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitors security event platforms and follows incident playbooks for first response and triage
• Performs network monitoring and intrusion detection analysis with IDS/IPS, firewalls, and HBSS
• Generates reports for Security Management Team (daily/weekly/monthly)
• Updates runbooks and procedures as needed
• Contributes to playbooks and incident response improvements
• Stays current with threat landscape using public security resources
• Participates in on-call rotation and incident handling
