PrizePicks is seeking a Senior Security Engineer, Detection & Response (SOC) to own and mature our IR program. You will lead detection monitoring, incident response playbooks, threat hunting, and forensics—driving automation and cross-team coordination across cloud and on‑prem environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a SOC, incident response, or detection engineering role with ownership of an IR or monitoring program
• Hands-on SIEM experience: log ingestion, correlation, and detection tuning
• Experience with digital forensics across host, network, and cloud environments
• Proficiency in scripting for triage and automation (Python or similar)
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and common threat actor TTPs
• Working knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Strong written communication; ability to document playbooks and incident reports

Responsibilities

• Own Detection & Monitoring for SIEM ingested events
• Build and improve incident response playbooks for repeatable actions
• Lead threat hunting to uncover undetected activity
• Strengthen digital forensics capabilities and evidence handling
• Automate alerting, enrichment, and triage workflows
• Lead incident response during fires and coordinate with business partners
• Document root cause analysis and remediation actions
• Shape IR metrics, escalation paths, and program maturity
