Job summary

Zelis is seeking a Senior Snowflake Platform Administrator to own the Snowflake foundation that underpins the Zelis Data & AI Cloud. You will ensure security, governance, performance, and cost efficiency across development environments and production.

You will manage accounts, RBAC, data protection, and automation with Terraform, dbt, and CI/CD, while partnering with Data Operations and external teams to deliver reliable Snowflake platforms for HIPAA-grade data.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data platform roles with 5+ years Snowflake administration in production.
• Deep RBAC and data-governance experience with masking and access policies.
• Strong warehouse tuning, performance, and cost-optimization skills.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD for Snowflake (Terraform, dbt, scripting).
• Advanced SQL and data warehousing fundamentals.
• Experience running Snowflake on AWS and knowledge of S3 external stages.

Responsibilities

• Own Snowflake platform security, access controls, and RBAC governance.
• Implement network policies, masking, and encryption with Snowflake Horizon for governance.
• Size and tune warehouses; manage cost with monitoring and chargeback metrics.
• Manage dev/test/prod environments, data sharing, replication, and backup strategies.
• Troubleshoot performance and reliability; collaborate with Data Operations.
• Develop platform automation with schema changes, dbt, Terraform, and CI/CD.
