Job summary

Zelis Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Director of Data Platforms & Tooling to lead the Snowflake-based data foundation, CI/CD tooling, and platform governance. You will set architecture standards, drive security guardrails for PHI, and enable Cortex AI/Relational AI workloads with scalable, secure data pipelines.

You will build and mentor a platform team, partner with Security, and guide cost governance while delivering a production-grade data platform across data-warehouse, data-lake, and Data

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data platform / data engineering
• 4+ years in engineering leadership
• Snowflake platform architecture at enterprise scale
• DevOps / CI/CD / IaC for data platforms
• Platform governance and security incl. PHI/DLP
• Experience setting reference architecture and standards
• Snowflake on AWS (S3, networking)
• Healthcare data experience; HIPAA / PHI & DLP
• Platform for AI/ML readiness (Cortex/Relational AI)
• SnowPro Advanced: Architect certification a plus

Responsibilities

• Own Snowflake platform architecture, scalability and roadmap across data-warehouse and data-lake
• Build and own the data DevOps stack (version control, CI/CD, IaC, secrets management)
• Manage dbt project configuration, standards, tests and promotions
• Set governance, security, and PHI/DLP guardrails across environments
• Define reference architecture, guardrails and medallion layering
• Drive adoption of Snowflake features (Cortex AI, Horizon, Data Sharing)
• Lead the platform engineering, tooling and release-engineering teams
• Prepare platform for Cortex AI / Relational AI workloads
• Own platform cost governance and efficiency with Data Operations
