Job summary

Zelis is building an AI-native Data Cloud foundation and seeks a Director of ZDC Operations to own the reliability, monitoring, and quality of production data pipelines on Snowflake. You will establish a Center of Excellence, drive automation, and lead a distributed team across L1/L2/L3, ensuring data products and dashboards run predictably with SLA adherence.

You will hire and mentor a Data Reliability Engineering practice, shape runbooks and dashboards, and partner with teams to improve CI/CD,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent).
• 10+ years in data engineering/operations with 4+ years leading teams (distributed).
• Deep experience running Snowflake (AWS) in production at scale.
• Strong orchestration background (Airflow, dbt, Snowflake Tasks/Streams) and DataOps/SRE practices.

Responsibilities

• Establish a Data Operations CoE with onshore/offshore, tiered support (L1/L2/L3).
• Own end-to-end run-state health for all ZDC pipelines and define data SLAs/SLOs.
• Lead job orchestration, scheduling, dependencies, and recovery.
• Implement data quality checks, contracts, and lineage observability (dbt, GE/Soda).
• Build and lead DRE function with runbooks, postmortems, and on-call discipline.
• Coordinate Snowflake administration and DBA support; ensure PHI/DLP guardrails.
