Nationwide’s Finance & Investments Technology team is seeking a Snowflake Data Engineer (Python / Snowpark) to design and implement enterprise‑scale data warehousing and cloud integration strategies on Snowflake. You will lead data modeling, ELT pipelines, and performance tuning while collaborating with architecture, security, governance, and product leaders.

The role emphasizes hands‑on Snowflake work, Advanced SQL, Python (PySpark/Snowpark), and dbt, with cloud exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

Experience in data engineering with Snowflake architecture and implementations.
Proficient in SQL, Python (PySpark or Snowpark), and dbt.
Knowledge of RBAC, zero-copy cloning, time travel, and performance tuning in Snowflake.

Responsibilities

Lead enterprise-scale data warehousing and cloud integration strategies on Snowflake.
Set standards for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and performance tuning.
Build scalable ELT pipelines using Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and Snowpark.
Implement data modeling frameworks (Dimensional/Data Vault) with dbt.
Optimize query performance and manage warehouse costs via clustering and sizing.
Integrate orchestration tools (Airflow/Prefect) for complex workflows.
