Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Snowflake Data Engineer to drive data warehousing, ELT pipelines, and cloud integration for Finance & Investments Technology. The role emphasizes scalable architectures, data governance, and cross-team collaboration in a hybrid Columbus, Ohio environment.

You will work with SQL, Python, PySpark or Snowpark, and dbt to deliver enterprise data products and reliable analytics across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience in data engineering focused on Snowflake architecture and implementation.
• Proficient in SQL, Python, PySpark or Snowpark; dbt experience.
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise-scale data warehousing and cloud integration strategies on Snowflake.
• Establish standards for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and performance tuning.
• Build scalable ELT pipelines using Snowflake features like Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and Snowpark.
• Implement data models (Dimensional, Data Vault, or hybrid) using dbt.
• Optimize query performance and manage warehouse costs.
• Integrate orchestration tools (Airflow or Prefect) for complex dependencies.
• Collaborate with data teams on CI/CD and governance.
