Job summary

Nationwide’s Finance & Investments Technology team seeks a Snowflake Data Engineer (Python/Snowpark) to design enterprise-scale data warehousing and cloud integrations. You will influence enterprise standards, build reusable data capabilities, and work with modern cloud and data technologies in collaboration with architecture, security, governance, and product leaders.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate studies in computer science, MIS, statistics, math or related field preferred.
• Strong experience in data engineering focused on Snowflake architecture and implementation.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python (PySpark/Snowpark) and modern transformation tools (dbt).

Responsibilities

• Lead design of enterprise-scale data warehousing and cloud integration on Snowflake.
• Establish standards for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and performance tuning.
• Build scalable ELT pipelines using Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and Snowpark.
• Implement data modeling frameworks (Dimensional, Data Vault, or hybrid) using dbt.
• Optimize query performance and manage warehouse costs via clustering and caching.
• Integrate orchestration tools (Airflow/Prefect) for complex dependencies.
