A Florida state government agency in the education sector is seeking a Senior Smartsheet Administrator/Developer to join its technology team through an IT staff augmentation engagement. The agency runs Smartsheet as an enterprise platform supporting statewide program operations, and is looking for someone who can own that environment end to end — administration and governance on one side, solution design and workflow automation on the other. This role sits close to the business: you'll gather requirements directly from program stakeholders and translate them into scalable, maintainable Smartsheet solutions integrated with the agency's Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the enterprise Smartsheet environment, including workspaces, assets, user access, security settings, and governance controls.
- Design, develop, and support Smartsheet solutions including sheets, reports, dashboards, forms, and automated workflows.
- Configure and maintain workflow automations using Smartsheet Automation, Data Shuttle, Bridge, Control Center, Dynamic View, and WorkApps.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business processes into scalable Smartsheet solutions.
- Design, implement, and maintain integrations and automated data exchange between Smartsheet, Microsoft 365 services, and other enterprise applications.
- Configure approval workflows, notifications, alerts, reminders, data collection forms, and reporting solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, workflow, data synchronization, and integration issues.
- Manage user provisioning, permissions, access controls, and workspace governance.
- Monitor platform utilization, workflow effectiveness, and adoption metrics; identify opportunities for optimization.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, administrative procedures, user guides, and governance standards.
- Provide user support, training, and consultation on Smartsheet best practices and solution design.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted.
- Minimum 3 years of experience administering Smartsheet Enterprise or a comparable workflow automation platform.
- Ability to serve as a project team member or technical lead, providing guidance and knowledge transfer to both business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, with demonstrated experience authoring technical documentation, administrative procedures, and end-user guidance.
- Availability for a 10+ month engagement.
- Note: All listed experience must be verifiable through professional reference checks as part of the client's onboarding process.
