Job summary

Formlabs is seeking a Senior Materials Scientist to lead research advancing SLS material performance from ideation to production. You will partner with product, hardware, and software teams to optimize formulations for real-world printing systems.

The role demands a strong background in materials science and polymer development, plus hands-on thermo-plastic engineering and a data-driven mindset to drive robust experiments and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Experience bringing a new material to market from ideation to production.
  • Solid understanding of materials science and polymer product development.
  • Hands-on thermo-plastic engineering experience.
  • Strong data mindset with rigorous experimentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research to advance SLS material performance toward next-gen solutions.
  • Develop methodologies to evaluate material formulations with SLS print systems.
  • Collaborate with product, hardware, and software teams to iterate on material performance based on feedback.
  • Partner across disciplines to balance chemistry, thermal dynamics, and printing parameters.
