Job summary

Formlabs seeks a Materials Scientist to advance 3D printing materials. You will conduct research from lab explorations to validation and commercialization, designing experiments and interpreting results to push performance improvements.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure materials print reliably on our printers while documenting findings and contributing to product strategy.

Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or PhD in a relevant science or engineering field.
  • Solid fundamentals in materials science and polymer development.
  • Experience with materials for 3D printing is a plus.
  • Ability to design and run rigorous experiments and analyze results.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and develop world-class materials for 3D printing from lab explorations to validation.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure materials print reliably on our systems.
  • Design experiments and use data to inform material performance improvements.
  • Partner with product, hardware, and software engineers to advance materials.
