Job summary

Light & Wonder seeks a veteran game audio designer in Chicago to compose, produce, and mix music for slot games, create custom sound effects, and record Foley as needed. You will collaborate with designers, engineers and artists in a fast-paced team to deliver high-quality game audio.

Responsibilities include balancing cabinet playback, implementing assets with middleware, and maintaining organized project files.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in MIDI sequencing and digital audio.
• Experience recording and editing voiceovers and sound effects.
• Familiarity with FMOD Studio or other interactive audio middleware is a plus.
• Gaming industry experience is preferred.
• Ability to play an instrument and read/write musical notation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Compose, produce, and mix music for land-based slot games in the style selected for the game.
• Create custom sound effects using DAWs and libraries.
• Record and edit Foley sound effects, voiceovers, or instruments as needed.
• Critically listen and self-monitor to ensure quality across target output devices.
• Balance final game sounds for cabinet playback.
• Implement game audio assets using middleware.
• Communicate with game designers and developers in iterative process.
• Maintain organized working files for sharing and collaboration.
• Archive final files for future use with version control.
• Assemble game audio assets for third-party and online use.
