Job summary

The University of Texas Permian Basin is seeking a Senior Slate CRM Developer to lead design, development, and integration of Slate CRM solutions across admissions and enrollment workflows. The role emphasizes independent analysis, complex SQL queries, and cross-system data exchanges with internal partners.

Responsibilities include mentoring developers, establishing standards, and delivering secure, maintainable Slate configurations while aligning with university governance and policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
• Four (4) years of experience in application development, CRM development, database development, systems integration, or a related technical field.
• Experience designing and developing solutions in a CRM platform, with direct Slate CRM experience strongly preferred.
• Experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and working with relational databases.
• Experience designing or maintaining integrations between enterprise systems, including data feeds, APIs, or web services.
• Experience independently analyzing requirements and designing technical solutions rather than configuring solutions from detailed specifications provided by others.
• Experience documenting technical solutions and maintaining development standards or practices.

Responsibilities

• Independently analyze business requirements and design Slate CRM applications, workflows, forms, portals, communications, and automations that meet functional and technical needs.
• Develop, test, document, and maintain complex Slate configurations, queries, deliverables, and custom solutions across the admissions and enrollment lifecycle.
• Design and build reusable components, templates, and development patterns that improve consistency, maintainability, and efficiency across the Slate environment.
• Evaluate new Slate features and capabilities and recommend adoption, configuration, and implementation approaches.
• Design, develop, and maintain integrations between Slate and other institutional systems, including the student information system, PeopleSoft, third-party platforms, and external partner systems.
• Build and maintain automated data feeds, APIs, web services, and scheduled processes supporting reliable cross-system data exchange.
• Establish and maintain development standards, documentation practices, testing procedures, and technical guidelines for the Slate environment.
