Job summary

WPS is seeking an experienced Site Surveyor to join our Planned Works team in Carlisle to work on SHF Wave 3 Retrofit Scheme. You will play a key role in commercially managing works on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to WPS' high-quality standards.

The role requires a BSc in Quantity Surveying, housing association experience, strong cost-control and cash-flow skills, on-site management of subcontractors and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• BSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
• Housing Association / Social Housing experience desirable.
• Strong commercial and financial understanding including cost control, valuations and cash flow.
• Experience managing projects and subcontractors on site.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills; proficient in Excel.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing planned works across social housing contracts focusing on cost control.
• Producing and submitting monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and progress reports.
• Procurement, managing subcontractors, producing external valuations and cash flows.
• Working closely with Commercial Managers on budgets, profit plans and final accounts.
• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards and Wates processes.
• Attending monthly client progress meetings (both in person and on-line).
• Building strong relationships with clients, residents, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Supporting continuous improvement and high standards of customer satisfaction.
