Job summary

thyssenkrupp Elevator in San Diego, CA, seeks an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer, and Quality Control Manager to lead safety programs on our construction sites. You will implement and enforce safety policies, conduct audits, and coordinate with project teams to prevent injuries.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in EHS, CSP and OSHA 30, plus 5+ years of safety leadership in elevator or general contracting environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an EHS discipline preferred.
• 5+ years safety experience; elevator industry preferred or major subcontractor.
• 3+ years in Quality Management System programs.
• OSHA 30-hour construction safety preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer TKE Safety Program and government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan onsite while work is being performed.
• Manage, communicate, and enforce compliance with TKE Safety Program and government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan.
• Serve as a technical leader in workplace safety.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with standards.
• Develop, administer, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies.
• Coordinate accident prevention initiatives.
• Shape positive and proactive safety culture.
• Participate in meetings.
• Follows up on job schedules and on-site coordination meetings.
• Acts as point of contact for coordination.
• Maintains awareness of project progress through communication with all parties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
