Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. in San Diego is seeking an HSE Supervisor to lead project health and safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive safe work practices across diverse teams.

You will deliver HSE training, develop emergency and environmental plans, and mentor coordinators, with a focus on building safe communities and lasting impact through responsible construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a related industry; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Solid understanding of OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
• Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; adaptability to new tech.

Responsibilities

• Implements and supports project HSE plans and safety practices.
• Delivers project-specific HSE training.
• Implements district HSE communication strategies on projects.
• Leads project HSE inspections and monitors safety plans.
• Develops and maintains emergency response and environmental plans.
• Monitors contractor HSE performance and audits.
• Participates in on-site investigations and corrective actions.
• Builds positive relationships with stakeholders.
• Coaches and mentors HSE Coordinators and staff.
