Job summary

B2 Constructors, LLC is seeking an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer to lead safety programs on federal and commercial construction projects in Indiana. The role requires hands-on field leadership, strong OSHA/EM 385 compliance, and proactive hazard mitigation.

The SSHO will conduct inspections, lead safety meetings, manage safety plans, and coordinate with project teams to ensure a culture of safety across all activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial/industrial construction safety on projects.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification required (within past 5 years).
• OSHA 500 or 510 preferred for government projects.
• Experience with USACE EM 385 regulations and safety documentation.
• Specialized training in high-hazard trades (electrical, crane, roofing).
• First Aid/CPR Certification required; Trench Safety certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections to identify and correct safety hazards.
• Serve as primary safety officer ensuring OSHA, EM 385, and project safety standards.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
• Maintain Accident Prevention Plans, Site Safety and Health Plans, and Emergency Action Plans.
• Monitor subcontractors' safety performance and enforce PPE usage.
• Prepare and submit daily safety reports with observations and corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries with timely corrective actions.
• Update Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and safety documentation.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and QA/QC to integrate safety into operations.
• Develop and lead emergency drills; conduct new-hire safety orientations.
