Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Lead Site Reliability Engineer to design, automate, and manage compute infrastructure and services supporting Akamai's compute products.

You will drive automation, operational excellence, and troubleshooting for customer-facing applications and infrastructure. You will define requirements, provide leadership for project teams, create and maintain SLOs and KPIs, and collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Support to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in SRE, DevOps, or similar fields (or equivalent).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Expert level experience in development or SysAdmin roles for large scale distributed systems.
• Ability to align with strategic business initiatives and coordinate other engineers.
• Excellent communication, mentorship, and interpersonal skills.
• Informed opinions on technology and software design.

Responsibilities

• Define requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence new designs and standards.
• Provide leadership and motivation for project teams.
• Create and maintain SLOs and KPIs with cross-team collaboration.
• Investigate and troubleshoot complex problems including incident management and post-mortem reviews.
• Participate in on-call rotations and guide restoration of service-impacting issues.
