Job summary
Akamai is seeking a Senior Lead Site Reliability Engineer in a remote role for our compute infrastructure and services. You will focus on automation, performance tuning, and scalable hardware/software architectures while guiding incident response and on-call rotations.
You will define requirements across the product lifecycle, mentor teams, and develop SLOs/KPIs in collaboration with Engineering, Product, and Support. Strong Linux and distributed systems experience are essential.
Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant experience in a development, sysadmin, or SRE role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Define requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence designs and standards.
- Provide support, leadership and motivation for project teams.
- Create and maintain SLOs and KPIs with Engineering, Product and Support teams.
- Engage with support, operations, hardware and engineering to investigate and troubleshoot complex problems, including incident management and post-mortems.
- Participate in on-call rotations, guiding restoration of service-impacting issues.
