Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Lead Site Reliability Engineer to design, develop, and manage automation and infrastructure for Akamai's Compute products and services.

You will drive operational excellence and collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep customer-facing applications highly available at scale. The role emphasizes defining product lifecycle requirements, leadership, and creating SLOs/KPIs, incident response, and on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Five years of relevant experience in a technical role.
• Experience architecting hardware, software, and infrastructure at scale.
• Expert-level experience in a Development or SysAdmin role with large distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Define requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence new designs and standards.
• Provide support, leadership and motivation for project teams.
• Create and maintain SLOs and KPIs, collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Support teams.
• Engage with support, operations, hardware, and engineering to investigate and troubleshoot complex problems, including incidents and post-mortems.
• Participate in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues.
