Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Lead Site Reliability Engineer to drive automation and reliability across our compute infrastructure. You will influence designs, lead project teams, and shape service reliability through robust SLOs and KPIs.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Support to troubleshoot issues, manage incidents, and steer on-call restoration efforts while aligning with strategic business initiatives.

Qualifications

5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree.
Experience architecting hardware, software, and large-scale infrastructure.
Development or SysAdmin background in distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Define requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence new designs and standards.
Provide support, leadership and motivation for project teams.
Create and maintain SLOs and KPIs, collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Support teams.
Engage with support, operations, hardware, and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex problems, including incident management and post-mortem reviews.
Participate in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues.
