Job summary
Horizon3 is seeking a hands-on Senior or Staff Site Reliability Engineer to shape and own our reliability strategy for the NodeZero platform. You will lead cross-functional initiatives affecting production services across cloud environments, with a focus on observability, SLIs/SLOs, and incident readiness.
This fully remote role offers a competitive salary and equity, with up to 10% travel for off-sites and kickoff meetings.
Qualifications
- Production-grade distributed systems experience.
- Reliability engineering, observability and incident management focus.
- Strong communication skills for designs and runbooks.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the SRE strategy, operating model, and reliability standards.
- Lead cross-functional alignment to improve reliability and on-call readiness.
- Define organization-wide service ownership, SLIs/SLOs, and error budgets.
- Drive observability standards across pipelines and platform components.
- Set dashboards, alerting, runbooks, and escalation paths.
- Lead end-to-end reliability initiatives across teams.
- Improve incident response, incident command, and post-incident learning.
- Shape the SRE function’s direction and growth path.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and design a sustainable model.
