Job summary

Kong Inc. is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to join the global Platform SRE team. You will design, automate, and run production SaaS systems across AWS, GCP, and Azure, focusing on reliability, security, and performance for Konnect and related gateway/mesh environments.

You will build scalable Kubernetes-based infrastructure, maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines, and collaborate with security and development teams to meet reliability standards in a 24/7 production setting.

Qualifications

• Experience managing SaaS or PaaS systems at enterprise scale (multi-region, multi-tenant, secure).
• Strong Kubernetes debugging, fault-tolerance, and scalability knowledge.
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform/Terragrunt).
• CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Atlantis, Helm) experience.
• Automation and tooling using Go/Python/Bash.
• Solid Linux/Unix networking and distributed systems know-how.

Responsibilities

• Operate and scale Kong’s global SaaS platform (Konnect) with reliability across regions and clouds.
• Build, automate, and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure and deployment workflows (Terraform/Terragrunt, Helm, ArgoCD).
• Design and optimize multi-region data/caching layers (PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse, Druid).
• Manage Kong Gateway/Mesh environments for hybrid/distributed architectures.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps processes.
