Job summary

Kforce is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer in Chicago, IL to join a distributed team, building and supporting cloud infrastructure and automation for a greenfield initiative. You will work closely with development and QA to ensure reliable, scalable services.

The role concentrates on Azure-based infrastructure, IaC with Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines, with experience in Python/Java microservices and containerized environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Azure certification preferred.
• 3–5+ years in SRE/DevOps or cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Apply software engineering and automation practices to infrastructure and IT operations.
• Design, deploy, and support scalable, secure, and resilient Azure solutions.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub.
• Support Java- and Python-based microservices and databases.
• Assist Azure Container Apps (ACA), Kubernetes/AKS, Azure Functions, messaging systems, and webhooks.
• Implement blue-green deployment strategies.
• Address scalability, resiliency, security, networking, and observability needs.
• Automate testing, monitoring, logging, deployment, and incident response.
• Research and troubleshoot infrastructure and network issues.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation and diagrams.
