Job summary

BNY is seeking a Senior Specialist, Site Reliability Engineer to join the SRE team in Jersey City, NJ. You will develop automation and internal tools using Python/Java, integrate workflows with ServiceNow, and support CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments.

Qualified candidates have a CS degree (or equivalent), 1–2 years of experience, familiarity with Linux, REST APIs, and cloud/container tech, plus a drive to grow in reliability engineering and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field; 1–2 years of relevant experience; securities industry a plus.
• Hands-on programming with Python and/or Java.
• Experience with ServiceNow (SNOW) or integrating applications with ServiceNow.
• Good understanding of Linux/Unix and scripting.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and system integrations.
• Exposure to cloud, containers, or infrastructure automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn and develop deeper SRE skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation and internal tools using Python and Java.
• Integrate automation and operational workflows with ServiceNow (SNOW).
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Automate repetitive infrastructure and operational processes.
• Support infrastructure capacity monitoring, forecasting, and rightsizing.
• Work with Linux, APIs, cloud and container technologies.
• Assist with Kubernetes/Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code tooling.
• Support monitoring, observability, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with SRE, application, infrastructure, and platform teams.
