BNY Mellon in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Senior Specialist, Site Reliability Engineer to join our SRE team. This on-site role focuses on automating infrastructure with Python/Java, integrating with ServiceNow, and supporting CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments.

Ideal candidates have a CS degree or equivalent, 1–2 years in the field, strong Linux scripting, and familiarity with REST APIs, cloud, and container tech. Growth, collaboration, and innovation are encouraged here.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years of related experience; securities/financial services experience a plus.
• Hands-on programming with Python and/or Java; willing to work with both.
• Experience with ServiceNow (SNOW) or integrations with ServiceNow.
• Understanding of Linux/Unix and scripting; basic CI/CD knowledge.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and system integrations; cloud/container exposure.

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Specialist, Site Reliability Engineer to join our SRE team. This role is located in Jersey City, NJ.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

• Develop and maintain automation and internal tools using Python and Java.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred. 1-2 years of related experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
• Hands-on programming experience with Python and/or Java, with willingness to work with both.
• Experience with ServiceNow (SNOW) or integrating applications/automation with ServiceNow.
• Good understanding of Linux/Unix and scripting.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and system integrations.
• Exposure to cloud, containers, or infrastructure automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn and develop deeper SRE, automation, and reliability engineering skills.
