About the Role:

Job Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement (hands-on, not manage), and maintain highly available, scalable services with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Develop and manage comprehensive observability solutions—metrics, logs, traces, and alerting—using New Relic, Observe Inc., and SQL-based dashboards.
• Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs; manage error budgets and drive continuous improvement through structured post-incident reviews.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment pipelines, and remediation workflows to reduce manual intervention and operational risk.
• Conduct capacity planning, resilience testing, and performance tuning to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and product teams to embed reliability best practices throughout the software lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

• Looking for Senior Level experience in Site Reliability Engineering.
• Extensive years of experience operating production systems at scale (cloud environments such as AWS or GCP preferred).
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, or Bash).
• Solid hands-on expertise with New Relic APM/NRQL, Observe Inc. Streams/Monitors, and advanced SQL for custom reporting and alerting.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation) and CI/CD workflows.
• Demonstrated success in incident response and conducting blameless post-mortems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Kubernetes and container orchestration experience.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or similar distributed-tracing standards.
• Background in security best practices for cloud-native architectures.

Locations to pick from: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $145K – $175K annually. Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
