Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Renewables Site Design Lead Engineer to join our renewable energy team in one of our offices. The role leads civil design on renewable projects with QA/QC oversight and coordination across disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering degree, 5–8 years’ A&E experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with EIT required and PE preferred. Strong communication and mentoring skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited program.
• 5–8 years of experience in discipline within the A&E industry.
• EIT certification required, PE preferred.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Extensive experience in county and state permitting preferred.
• Good mentoring skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to change focus quickly during a typical day.
• Positive and solution orientated approach to problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform all aspects of civil design and technical solutions for utility-scale renewable projects.
• Provide leadership, management, and mentorship for the design team.
• Define project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate with other professional disciplines to execute successful project delivery.
• Prepare and provide support with project proposals.
• Prepare budget on assigned projects and review invoicing under the direction of a Project Manager.
• Identify additional scope and revenue opportunities that relate to the project and participates in business development activities.
• Provide ongoing communication with the client related to the project.
• Establish goals for project deliverables and maintain QA/QC goals.
