Job summary

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers seeks a Senior Site Civil Engineer to lead site civil design efforts and provide technical and managerial oversight across multiple districts. The role supports a growing design group handling transportation and commercial site projects with a focus on constructible, data‑driven solutions.

The position requires a PE, 15+ years of site design experience, and the ability to collaborate across offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required with ability to obtain licensure in additional states.
• 15+ years of experience in site design, preferably with significant design-build experience.
• Experience with civil/site development and utility coordination.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD, OpenRoads, Civil3D.
• Ability to develop construction plans and deliver high-quality design packages for transportation and commercial site projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience developing project approaches, scopes, effort, schedules, and QA/QC plans.
• Prior leadership or team management experience for senior-level consideration.
• Involvement with ASCE, TRB, DBIA or similar organizations is a plus.
• Experience in government and nuclear markets is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead preliminary design concepts and alternatives to support estimating, pursuit strategy, and project planning.
• Lead complex site civil engineering design tasks, serving as engineer of record or responsible charge as required.
• Oversee models and design deliverables using OpenRoads, Civil3D, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and related tools.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, constructible design solutions.
• Oversee final designs including layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and walls.
• Promote data-driven design approaches and innovative technical solutions.
• Estimate, plan, direct, and report progress of site civil tasks within multidisciplinary teams.
• Establish design criteria and ensure contractual compliance through all design phases.
• Implement QA/QC procedures and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate resources across offices.
