Job summary

Lumentum is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer: silicon photonics - Hybrid integration to lead high-volume process flows that integrate unique materials and boost performance of silicon photonics for cloud, AI, and data-center applications.

You will work with a team to design, validate, and optimize process steps and chip functionality from conception through integration. PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics required; deep background in optical physics, photonics, and IC integration; strong

Qualifications

PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics or equivalent.
Strong background in optical physics and photonics.
Experience managing advanced IC and photonic IC integration Methods (2D/2.5D/3D).
Experience with photonic device fabrication and test result analysis.
Excellent English communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Develop III-V to SiPho hybrid integration process flows within the PIC development team.
Coordinate with wafer fabrication partners and back-end process teams to meet customer specs and manufacturing tolerances.
Collaborate with test engineering to design verification plans and analyze measurements.
Consider performance and margin to enable high yield in cost-sensitive high-volume production.
Drive continuous improvement to optimize performance and cost efficiency, maintaining product competitiveness.
Encourage cross-disciplinary communication between fabrication and design teams.
